Al-Sallala company sponsors a field guidance day to promote agricultural development
Under the sponsorship of Al-Sallala Company for the Import of Agricultural Supplies, Machinery, and Spare Parts, one of the subsidiaries of FAPO Holding Group, which works to develop the agricultural system in Libya and introduce modern techniques that contribute to increasing national production and achieving food security in our country,
a Field Guidance Day event was held at the Al-Qarabulli Media Complex on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
The event witnessed a large turnout of attendees and those interested in the agricultural sector, as well as notable figures from Libya and abroad. The discussions focused on ways to enhance agricultural development through modern irrigation and cultivation techniques and the use of mechanization.
Among the attendees were representatives from the Deputy Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Guidance Office, the Plant Production Office, other departments of the Ministry, and the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Tripoli, including the Dean’s representative and heads of departments — notably Dr. Faraj Ajbeel, Engineer Othman Habeel, and members of the Friends of the Tree Association led by Engineer Kamal Issa.
Also present were Engineer Areej Khalifa Al-Sari, the official spokesperson for the Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Administrative Affairs and Land Reclamation, along with students of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Libyan-German Agriculture Organization, and several other bodies and organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture in Libya.
The event also welcomed representatives of Germicopa, the French company specialized in potato seed production — including Mr. Samir Al-Wadi, Sales Director for the Maghreb Region — and representatives of Organic Standards Company from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including Mr. Sultan Al-Qatami, the company’s General Manager, and Dr. Nasr El-Sayed Fouda from the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Other participants included agricultural coordinators, farmers from Al-Qarabulli and neighboring municipalities, members of the Scouts and Guides Troops of Al-Qarabulli and Al-Shatt, and representatives of the Municipal Council and its affiliated sectors.
During the event, several speeches were delivered, beginning with a welcoming address by Mr. Salem Mohamed Salem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FAPO Holding Group.
He was followed by Dr. Mohamed El-Fahim, Quality Management Director at Al-Sallala Company from Tunisia, and Engineer Mohamed El-Jouadi, the supervisor of the experimental field, who presented a detailed explanation of the field’s management — starting from cultivation, fertilization, and irrigation methods to harvesting.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees visited the experimental field site to observe the results of the modern agricultural and irrigation techniques and safe fertilization methods firsthand, guided by agricultural experts.
The FAPO Holding Group Management extends its sincere appreciation to all employees of the group — especially those of Al-Sallala Company — for their exceptional efforts, particularly Mr. Fathi Bashir Al-Toumi, Mr. Walid Al-Zouam Al-Shaoush, who oversaw the on-site operations, and all other staff members whose hard work made this event a success.
Special thanks also go to the Municipal Council of Al-Qarabulli and its affiliated sectors, particularly the Al-Qarabulli Security Directorate and all the security agencies that ensured the safety of the event.
Our deepest gratitude to everyone, without exception.
The Board of Directors of FAPO Holding Group
